1- GENDER & CAPACITY BUILDING SPECIALIST (GCBS) Position Title: VSLA Specialist Department/Program: Freedom From Violence
JOB PURPOSE: The VSLA Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to community project staff, intermediary organizations (IOs), civil society organizations (CSOs) in Village Savings & Loans Associations (VSLA) and Management Information System (MIS) in Minia and Sohag. S/he will set up and coordinate the MIS in Cairo and the two governorates. Besides, s/he will coordinate with the project partners to ensure the maximum impact of the project. In addition, s/he will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the project, setting needed plans and submit relevant reports. 2- RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Responsibility Responsibility # 1: Provide the IOs and CSOs with all technical support and training in VSLA and MIS management issues. 1. Conduct basic and refreshment trainings to board members of the IOs and CSOs, and community project staff in these organizations on VSL & MIS methodology. 2. Offer needed technical support to the whole project team including field staff and others working in the IOS and CSOs. 3. Update the project team with all new methodologies, techniques and best practices in the VSL & MIS. 4. Conduct regularly field visits to the two governorates to offer all needed technical support to the implementing organizations and the field staff. 5. Identify lessons learned and share them with project staff and partners. 6. Ensure considering the gender aspect in the project implementation process.
Responsibility # 2: Maintain, follow up and manage the Management Information System in the project. 1. Establish the MIS in Cairo and the two governorates. 2. Advise partners on data collection and entry, and ensure the accuracy of data. 3. Utilize all MIS outputs in the regular monitoring and progress assessment of the project. 4. Follow up the submission of reports from the field. 5. Coordinate with Freedom from Violence project field staff to monitor work.
Responsibility # 3: Be the technical prime for the partners. 1. Attend meetings with partners on technical issues and for sharing ideas. 2. Submit narrative and financial reports to the project partners. 3. Coordinate with project partners to maximize the project impact. 4. Submit achievement reports and give regular feedback to partners. 5. Keep partners updated on methodology and liaise with other VSLA efforts of Plan and others.
Responsibility # 4: Monitor the project implementation in the two relevant governorates in terms of project goal and commitments with the partner. 1. Update the project action plan along with annual plans and technical objectives in cooperation with the Project Manager. 2. Set the monitoring and evaluation plan and the appropriate indicators of the project. 3. Lead and participate in the baseline implementation process to ensure the quality of the implementation. 4. Maintain a unified documentation system within the project. 5. Collect and review all coming reports from the field. 6. Write needed narrative and financial reports to be submitted to Plan and to the project management. 7. Share reports and basic indicators with the Project Manager and partners

FINANCIAL ASSISTANT

You will work in close collaboration with the financial team of the Tdh Delegation in Egypt and you will work under the supervision of the Financial Administrator. You will review financial documents and reports of the last six months and make appropriate corrections according to the financial regulation of Terre des homes.
Job description
1- Understand Tdh manual of operation and its regulations
2- Review the serial number of journal entries and match them with the serial in American ledger
3- Check any missing receipt / invoice , approvals , translation , stamps on support documents and complete them according to financial regulations with relevant concern staff members
4- Verify the figures from the accounting software (Saga reports) with the figures from American ledger and report on deviations
5- Review monitoring reports from Jan until June 09, and make sure that required corrections are applied
6- Review procurement documents and complete them ( translation – coding – missing approvals) according to Tdh regulations
7- Help to organize and finalize the financial / procurement documents
8- help the Accountant in preparing journal entries, register them in American ledger and in accounting system
9- Give support for the financial team in other related tasks, in order to release part of work load and finalize pending issues
Job requirements
You have:
University degree
Previous experience in examining account would be an advantage
Accounting and auditing skills
Language and communication skills in Arabic and English (oral and written)
Computer skills (Accounting software, Word, Excel)
You are:

*Background about CIHRS* The Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS) is an independent egional non-governmental organization founded in 1994. It aims at promoting espect for the principles of human rights and democracy, analyzing the ifficulties facing the application of International Human Rights Law and disseminating Human Rights Culture in the Arab Region as well as engaging in ialogue between cultures. As HR Advisor you will:
Advise on Tdh Human Resources strategy
Monitor the implementation of Tdh Human Resources Policy and to update it

Advise on attracting and selecting human resources
Coordinate the performance appraisal process and the training needs
Assess the salary strategy and support the salary increase process
Manage workplace relations and coach managers on basic managerial behaviours when needed
Job requirements
You, as the ideal HR Advisor, have :
Minimum 5 years working experience in Human Resources

The Combating Violence Against Women and Children project supports the National Council for Women’s ongoing efforts to develop and implement policies that provide better protection to women victims of violence and help to reduce violence against women (VAW). The project also supports the NCW’s efforts to improve and expand governmental and non-governmental services for women victims of violence and related awareness efforts targeting the family and community.
*1) Combating Violence Against Women Team Leader (Egyptian)*
This senior-level professional leads all of the project’s VAW activities, providing policy advice, providing capacity building to governmental and non-governmental professionals, and strategizing activities and results, working in close coordination with the leadership of the National Council for Women and project management. This professional supervises a team of three full-time professionals and intermittent short-term consultants.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Strong background in gender issues, social work, social psychology, law or related field with substantial experience working on issues related to violence against women. - Experience working with local or international NGOs, international donors, and/or Egyptian government institutions in the field of violence against women; USAID experience preferred. - Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English, with near fluency preferred. - Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field and 10 years of work experience.

*2) Combating *V*iolence Against Women NGO Specialist (Egyptian)*
This mid-level professional will provide direct technical backstopping and support in the area of service provision with a special focus on the project’s NGO sub-grantees. In addition, this professional will participate in building capacity and monitoring sub-grantees.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Strong background in gender issues, social work, social psychology, law or related field with substantial experience working with women victims of violence; USAID experience a plus. - Experience developing grantee proposals and implementing grantee activities, including defining objectives, results, and indicators. - Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English, with near fluency preferred. - Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field and 5 to 10 years of work experience.

*Project Management and Operations Positions*
*3) Project Communications and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (Locally hired expatriate or Egyptian).*
This mid-level professional will lead the project’s communications and English-language reporting to Egyptian government counterparts and USAID. The professional will also take a leading role in maintaining and reporting on a wide-range of performance monitoring mechanisms over the life of the project.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Native or near native written and spoken English language; strong Arabic skills a plus - Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems
- Bachelors or higher degree in a relevant field and 3 to 7 years of work experience

*4) Procurement Specialist (Egyptian). *
The mid-level professional will support the project’s procurement program, which is conducted on behalf of its Egyptian government partners. The specialist will be responsible for helping to prepare bidding documents, review bids, ensure that the process is conducted in accordance with US government and Chemonics International rules and regulations, and oversee the implementation of sub-contracts with vendors. The specialist may also be asked to perform a range of other tasks to support the operation of the project.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of USAID and US government procurement rules and regulations - Experience supervising local subcontractors - Fluent written and spoken Arabic; strong written and spoken English, with near fluency preferred. - Bachelors or higher degree in a relevant field and 3 to 5 years of work experience
